The first holiday we are aware of having a father's day is father's day. It is also widely known as father's day due to the fact that many men will take their children out on the 4th of June. There are many other names for the holiday, but in general terms it is called fathers day because most of the celebrations are centered around fathers.

How did fathers day start on the fourth of June? The origins of father's day can be traced back to 17th century England, when common people began marking the day with activities and events. These activities included boating, fishing, picnicking, riding, and other common activities that men did on a regular basis. As time went on this celebration became more organized and much more elaborate.

How did fathers and mothers start celebrating father's day? Most likely the idea of having a special day for fathers was common knowledge among middle class citizens in England and by the late 1700s this tradition of father's day had come to include a third Sunday of the week. This third Sunday was designated as father's day and used to mark the day where fathers would go to spend the day with their sons.

Who created the holiday in the United States? The traditions of fathers' day in America are a relatively modern phenomenon. The idea of having a holiday dedicated to fathers came to America from England, where the tradition of Father's day had been created in the latter part of the seventeenth century. What happened in America was that the third Sunday of the month of the fasting period of Lent and was designated as father's day. The custom in America of having a third Sunday in June became associated with the Pilgrims and so began the tradition of fathers' day.

Where does fathers day start? It all begins with the observation that on this day fathers in America took leave of their jobs and spent the day with their children. They also spent the day with their wives knitting wool for their clothing and making collages with their children. This was an incredibly difficult task and many fathers would not be able to accomplish this on their own.

Why do fathers opt to celebrate Father's day in the third Monday of June? One reason is that during the middle of the nineteenth century taxation was very high in America. Many fathers found that the extra money that they earned was not being put to good use. They were also stuck making payments on government contracts that were not beneficial to them. Thus the idea of father's day was born to recognize these hard working men.

How did fathers start the day? In actuality, the actual tradition of father's day started when a boy was being welcomed into the home of a father by offering him a cup of tea. The child accepted the cup and because the father was extremely busy making a present for his son he decided to make it simple and have the boy sign the bottom of the cup "Daddy" and then sign his name "Jack".

How did fathers day end? Today we observe the actual celebration of fathers day through the gift giving of father's day flowers to fathers who have made a difference in the lives of their children or spouse. The most popular gifts given on fathers day are red roses for fathers in the male generation and pink roses for the females in the male generation. The flowers are usually given to the father in the morning with his breakfast and later at his dinner table.
